1998年に東京大学医学部医学科を卒業後、東京大学医学部附属病院分院神経科、戸田病院、NTT東日本関東病院を経て、東京大学医学部附属病院精神神経科助教、帝京平成大学大学院臨床心理学研究科教授として、精神科遺伝学研究・教育(精神医学、臨床心理学)・臨床に従事しました。
2010~2012年には、日本学術振興会「優秀若手研究者海外派遣事業」により、米国ヴァージニア州ヴァージニア・コモンウェルス大学精神遺伝医学研究所(所長 Kenneth S. Kendler、John M. Hettema 教授)で精神科遺伝学研究に取り組みました。
2019年4月から2年間はNTT東日本関東病院で地域精神医療に従事。昭和大学附属烏山病院准教授(2021年6月~2023年3月)、名古屋市立大学医学部附属東部医療センター教授・精神科診療部長(2023年4月~2024年9月)を経て、2024年10月より帝京大学医学部精神神経科学教室教授として臨床・研究・教育活動を続けています。これまでに国際学術論文75編超、日本語総説50編超、著書16冊を発表。
専門分野:精神科遺伝学(パニック症の全ゲノム関連解析)、うつ病・不安症、発達症の臨床、コンサルテーション・リエゾン精神医学、産業精神医学。
I earned my M.D. from the University of Tokyo in 1998. After residency and clinical appointments at the University of Tokyo Hospital (Division of Neuropsychiatry), Toda Hospital, and NTT Medical Center Tokyo, I served as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Tokyo Hospital and later as Professor in the Graduate School of Clinical Psychology at Teikyo Heisei University.From 2010 to 2012 I was a JSPS Overseas Research Fellow at the Virginia Institute for Psychiatric and Behavioral Genetics, Virginia Commonwealth University (Director: Kenneth S. Kendler; Mentor: John M. Hettema), where I conducted psychiatric genetic studies.
Returning to Japan, I worked for two years (2019 – 2021) as Director of Neuropsychiatry at NTT Medical Center Tokyo, providing community-based psychiatric care in the Jonan area of Tokyo. I then held faculty positions as Associate Professor at Showa University Hospital (2021 – 2023) and Professor & Chair of Psychiatry at Nagoya City University East Medical Center (2023 – 2024).Since October 2024 I have been Professor and Chair of Psychiatry at Teikyo University School of Medicine, continuing my work in clinical practice, research, and medical education.
My research focuses on genome-wide association studies of panic disorder, as well as epidemiological and genetic investigations of mood and anxiety disorders. I have authored more than 75 peer-reviewed international papers, over 50 Japanese review articles, and 16 academic books. In addition, I have served for several years as an occupational psychiatrist for more than 20 companies, supporting the physical and mental health of their employees.
